Time to get into this weeks episode of Dog Blessed with Jodi Jarvis-Therrian on the Muskegon Channel.  The show is brought to you weekly by Must Love Dogs Pet Boutique in Grand Haven and Clock's Timeless Pets.  This week, it's one of those weeks where we stray from the usual "fun stuff" and discuss a more serious topic.

"Free to a Good Home".  Remember when you could see that on a side along the road or in the paper anytime there was a litter of puppies or kitty's that came along unexpectedly?  Remembering back to being a kid, it was those 5 words that quite often instantly turned any kids eyes into the size of dinner plates and that eternal promise of "I'll take care of it and clean up after it, really I will".  It's part of childhood.  Like so many other things we once all cherished, believe it or not, even free puppies have been tarnished by rotten people.

Yes, there's a bounty on animals sometimes.  Animals are purchased sometimes for testing, sometimes for food for other animals.  Some are picked up only to be used in training other animals to fight or attack and others are picked up by unscrupulous owners who have no regard for the wellbeing of the animal once they leave you. Jodi explains what she finds in her work from time to time.  Take a listen.

Pets are companions.  It's truly sad to think that people might abuse or neglect an animal but it happens.  It's also not exactly our preferred programming, but awareness is essential for some of the issues that continue to present themselves and we work to stick with what the mission Dog Blessed offers and that is helping people and their pets live their best lives together.  You can visit Jodi online at the Dog Blessed website and please visit Clock's Timeless Pets and Must Love Dogs too and thank them for their support of Dog Blessed on the Muskegon Channel.
