Up and at Em'!!  Fit and Healthy With Becky is how we kick off the week around these parts and this week, it's time for a TRX workout focused on the legs and midsection!  Keeping you fit and healthy is one small way we work to bring you great local media and we also work with terrific sponsors like Trinity Health to make that happen.

To an outsider, the words "Havana Silk" could sound like a fine cigar or a delcious rum!  In the world of dogs however, it's a breed of dog that is carefully protected for it's blood line and it's unique and super cool traits.  Jodi is joined by Dee Reynolds who is a Havana Silk owner and they are going to discuss this wonderful breed.

It's been a couple weeks since we had a visit with our dear friend Shon Cook from Tabono Law.  Shon shares her expertise in the legal world with us to help make a difficult profession a little easier for the average person out there.  It's a highly specialized field and it's often found at a time of stress and emotion in life.  This week, Shon is helping explain the idea of assets in a second marriage.

Three Hundred and Twenty Five!  Can you imagine the time and dedication that Becky has given to produce 325 episodes of Fit and Healthy With Becky brought to you by Trinity Health?  It's one of our greatest sources of pride that for over 6 years, we've been able to bring you a work out that's quick, efficient and can meet you no matter where you are on a fitness regimen.  Our thanks to the 100's of weekly viewers and to Becky too for her long standing dedication to the betterment of life for so many.

It's the 12th year of Stand Up for the Cure in Muskegon, but it's also a remarkably big year for the event in Muskegon because the strength of community has stood in one place nationwide to keep this essential event going that not only helps fund research into the dreadful disease of breast cancer, it helps funds the needs for women who could otherwise not afford the costs for screenings that could possibly save their lives.

It's a special edition of Dog Blessed with Jodi Jarvis Therian this week on The Muskegon Channel.  The 4th of July is here and it's a time when many pets and pet owners find themselves in situations that are a little difficult to manage with the loud noises, the flashing lights and the gatherings that take place.  Here are some fantastic tips and tricks that can help make the celebration a little less stressful on everyone.

Up and at 'em!  Last week we went after the arms, this week...it's legs!!  Becky is in her home gym and ready to get your week moving with some energy and excitement!  It's an investment into yourself to spend the time day to day to get the workout in and get it done.  Fit and Healthy With Becky is brought to you by Trinity Health.

Welcome to another incredible edition of Dog Blessed on the Muskegon Channel.  It's episode 116 and Jodi is here today with her dear friend Olaf to talk about summer safety tips that you may know about or you may need a refresher course on.  It's all brought to you by Must Love Dogs and Clock Timeless Pets.

Good morning!  We're here today to share one of our weekly features on our new site, Muskegon, Better.  After a very tough week for all of Muskegon County, Swenja Tanner who is our resident Yoga instructor, has put together about a 6 minute meditation for you to unwind and restore your senses.  The chaos of the storms and the aftermath of the clean up takes quite a toll mentally and physically.  Drop on in for a little down time.

Yoga is a practice of mind and body presence. After a really stressful time, there are some coping mechanisms that get employed. Some are not as healthy as others. In this weeks episode, Swejna is going to focus on your breathing and muscle groups to help bring some settlement back to you holistically and without any kind of stimulants or depressants. Yes, society can function without all of the prescriptions we are given through the ancient practices that can be put to use. Give this a try this week. It’s under 6 minutes and you might just walk away feeling wonderful.

How would you like to join Swenja on this serene setting? She’s opening up registration to come to her outdoor “studio” and enjoy what you see here in person and connect even more. It’s as simple as CLICKING HERE to visit the registration site. Keep in mind, Swenja is new to town, moving here from Grand Rapids and working to establish a business of her own and it speaks volumes that she saw the opportunity here to do that! Let’s support our new neighbor and business grower!

Remember, with any physical activity, it’s important to know your limits. Swenja is a long time practitioner of yoga. If you are new to the experience, take your time to get into the motions and don’t over do it. Injuring yourself is the fastest way to ruin an amazing experience that will only enrich your life for years to come. Keep in mind too as your progression continues, that adding a healthy eating habit will add a lot to you’re program as will upping your physical fitness in other ways.

We invite you to enjoy more great programs working on the over all wellbeing of Muskegon.  Stop by and take a look at MUSKEGON BETTER.

It's episode 115 of Dog Blessed with Jodi Jarvis-Therrian and she's bringing in all the know how about dogs there is on the Lakeshore welcoming both Tonya Christiansen from Must Love Dogs in Grand Haven and Paula Smith who's her partner in Dog Blessed.  The discussion is a boor review, make it two book reviews about the "Forever Dog" and the "Forever Dog Life".  It's good.  You should stick around.

Being well versed in all things about pets and pet health, you couldn't find three better to discuss these books.  Both books focus on pet longevity science, healthy recipes for your pets and tools and rules to keep in mind when it comes to the long term management and care of your pet.  After all, you do want to keep them around a while, right?  Our pets are an essential part of life to so many and to give them the best in return is what we can do.  The discussion among Jodi, Tonya and Paula is genuine and focuses on some of the same things you hear about keeping people healthy.  Fresh food as often as possible, because you get out what you put in.  Work on feeding your pets a better diet and think of the things like joint health in their lives as well as how shiny the coat is and how appealing they look.  Health is a number of factors and these books along with this discussion by three highly qualified professionals is very valuable.

Don't forget, Jodi has a summer filled with educational and fun experiences for you!
