August 16th-18th we are working with Muskegon Boat Life and Adelaide Pointe Boat Show to help promote the event and highlight the sponsors and vendors that you will find there. This is an inaugural event and the first of its kind in Muskegon where spectators and the community will have a chance to meet up close and personal with people in the boating industry both in the water and on land to see the latest in products and services that are available. It’s promising to be a spectacular even filled with food music and fun for all and the water craft will range from the smallest to the most impressive yachts on the Great Lakes. As the show gets closer, keep checking back with the Muskegon Channel to meet those who are coming from near and far to be a part of this incredible first year event.

Our first visit took up to Kalamazoo. Home of Leaders RPM. We met with Treg Stomman and Corey Burton. What an amazing place filled with everything power sports! From their beginnings 3 generations ago selling wood stoves…they looked for ways to grow their business when stoves were not exactly the biggest sellers in the summer months and added a line of boats. From there, it just continued to grow. Today under one roof they have everything from a starter snowmobile to some of the most gorgeous boats for any budget, amazing side by side vehicles, outboards, wicked cool street vehicles and even some of the latest toys like a “Widescape” which you have to see to believe. Let’s hear from Treg and Corey from inside the showroom.

Their service department is massive and one of the areas they pointed out the most. Every tech has their own bay to work in, it’s spotless and they go all the way from minor repairs to in house fiberglass and paint for the dents and dings that happen along the way. They have an in house canvas shop to help if there’s a rip or tear, they winterize and they offer detailing too if you need your toy ready to show and shine!
One really exciting thing about their visit to Muskegon in August will be the inventory they are bringing with them to sell direct. It’s going to be a great chance to get the gear you need right on the spot. Yes, they have a very robust online business service, but as they grow, getting to interact one on one with clients is a priority for them and with the ability now in Muskegon to host a boat show experience of this magnitude, they knew not only was it time to come be a part of it, but to make some friends here too. It truly is a great family run business and you can feel that from the moment you walk in, after of course you get over the overwhelming views of the showroom. It’s really something to see.

The Muskegon Boat Life Adelaide Pointe Boat Show will feature Leaders RPM and 12 other dealers and 30 other vendors at this point. It’s going to be a 3 day event filled with activity and engagement and it’s also going to be one of the first opportunities for everyone in Muskegon to visit the Adelaide Pointe campus and see just how much this will become a major destination for Great Lakes travel and events that will be centered more close to home and focused on community. It’s an amazing space and it will be on short order that we all say “oh, it’s always been like that” when it comes to the future of Adelaide Point and its limitless potential for the community.

Make sure you plan on a visit to meet and greet the folks from Leaders RPM and above all….THANK THEM for making a commitment to being a part of our community and travelling the distance to get here. The word is getting out about Muskegon, to see the commitment of sponsors and dealers coming from far and wide due to success like Bike Time and more has opened the door to the boating world and the benefits will go deep both economically and in the minds of future planners as to where to travel. The sun is shining on Muskegon. While it is, let’s keep making it happen.
